The Gorilla and Perfect Parents

So I know you know what I mean when I mention the Gorilla. And please understand that I love animals. There is not a bone in my body that does not LOVE ANIMALS! I do not like killing bugs. I feel horrible about killing them. I recently have been having an ant problem. They apparently have set up shop in my light switch. So I have been bleaching the area and darn near cried killing those little guys. But hey they have to go!

Saying this, I give my heart to say I feel sorry that the Gorilla had to be killed in this situation.
If you have been buried under a rock or just not associated with Social Media here is the clip of the whole ordeal CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL STORY OF GORILLA'S DEATH

Now back to this. I have seen so much out pour of love for the Gorillas death. What I have not seen is the concern and love towards the parents and their child. Now at first when I first heard this I was thinking how can anyone allow their child to just drift off like that. And I kept asking that to myself and then actually answered myself. I put myself in the shoes of this parent. In a crowded Zoo. With more than 3 children. A child can be gone in a BLINK OF AN EYE. And Imagined this women turning and not seeing him and then looking around for him. Looking in the crowd, looking in the bathroom, looking anywhere and everywhere BUT THE GORILLA CAGE or in any direction of getting into the Gorilla Cage. EVEN WITH HEARING MY CHILD SAY "Mommy I want to get in the Gorilla Cage!"

Now if you have children, nieces, nephews, or any child imagine that little boy being them. The one that you love and tell me if you were handed the gun to shoot Harambe would you shoot them?

Now for you perfect parents I want to introduce to another case you may want to look into. This woman's 4 year old daughter woke up at 3am, got dressed, opened the door of her home by herself, went to a bus stop, yes alone to get herself a slushy. Now the bus driver did the right thing and called the police to get her back home and the thought of pressing charges on these parents was non existent. If you think I am making this all up HERE IS THE FULL STORY OF THE 4 Year OLD RIDING THE BUS ALONE TO GET A SLUSHY!

I also believe that the Zoo made the right decision and why go against the experts. We have to remember that the Zoo profits more by having Harambe. They are protecting him because he is endangered. To kill him was the only option. I hear people say, well they could have tranquilized him. You don't think they knew that? You don't think tranquilizing him was a thought?

Lastly, I have not seen not one single post about the after effects of this ordeal for this child. How shaken up he has to be. He saw the Gorilla die. He knows that the Gorilla was killed because of him. He one day will grow old enough to see the post and notice the disregard of his well being and the backlash of the type of parents his Mom and Dad are in the eyes of the public. Their mistakes in the public eyes are preposterous and he may wish he was born to perfect parents not knowing they are NON-EXISTING!
For you perfect parents out if you have never had any close calls or mistakes that know one would no about because you would not tell them then I believe you should start a course for us "Imperfect Parents" If you have never lost your child in a store and had to use that loud speaker in the store to find them, or they get burned by the stove, or almost run in the street, or had a car accident with your children or anything else you could come up with I would suggest that you really should consider teaching. Hey I would even put the marketing together and I all I want is 15%.

If you are not a perfect parent like the 99.9% of us then please stop attacking these parents and show yourself to be a decent human being and show them some support like you are doing to the Gorilla.

In the words of the Cincinnati Zoo, when it comes to Animal Life and Human Life we must choose our own.

Social Media Training 101

Social Media and Business!

Social Media is not the waive of the future. It is the waive of the NOW! Not having your business on Social Media is like having a Horse in Carriage on the Freeway.
It is needed if you are serious about extending to other levels in business.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN EXPERT TO BE ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNDERSTAND IT TO USE IT!

Start with Facebook

Facebook is the biggest social network on the Web, both in terms of name recognition and the total number of users. With more than 1.55 billion active users, Facebook is a great medium for connecting people from all over the world with your business. And Facebook is not only the biggest network, but it's arguably the most versatile one. In the 12 years since it launched, Facebook grew from a simple website where college students could keep in touch into a multifaceted Web and mobile social platform where anyone can connect with not just their friends and family, but also with celebrities, organizations, businesses and more, thanks to the Pages feature.
Considering that Facebook has a wealth of options for any type of organization, it's a great starting point for your business, regardless of your industry. You can use it to share photos, videos, important company updates and more. Additionally, Facebook can be more low-maintenance than other social networks — whether you post several updates a day or only a few a week won't make much of a difference in terms of what your fans will think of you.

Social Media Warning

Social Media Warning

Last night I was speaking to a colleague of mine and we were talking about business and few things. The conversation felt like it was one ended. You know how it feels when you're the only one speaking.
I really can't stand that. 😐😐😐😐😐

Any hoot....  I keep the convo going and finally I get some engagement. As he proceeds to speak and he starts to talk about how he just got one of those awha moments and instead of sharing with the person he's sitting on the phone with what he discovered he says, "I'm going to tweet this thought"

Now the scariest part of this he never shared what this thought was.

I believe this is scary and deserves a moment to pay close attention to a issue that millions are currently experiencing.
This is Lack of "QT" also known as Quality Time.
Time is the most valuable commodity that we possess. When we look back at our lives, laying on our death beds wouldn't we want those who we are really connected to, to gain the best of us or would we want our Social Media Followings to get it all?
I believe there is a time and a place for everything. When you're doing your business, do your business. When you're speaking to a friend, speak to a friend. When you're enjoying time with your kids, enjoy time with your kids. Don't let the unreal world of Social Media zap every fiber of you. Or would you prefer that?
Hey it is a sacrifice right?
Well I refused to go on Twitter to find out that thought. I just pray that those followers where inspired from the info!

Till the next, Remember High Tech can never out do high touch!
